Hi, and welcome to my portfolio and journal.

I am a London based php developer, currently fulltime employed by Caspian Media as a Web Developer. I started learning PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript about 3 years ago and since then I have worked on a few projects (visit portfolio for more info). I enjoy writing programs and web applications in whatever time I have can get my fingers on!

When building anyhting, I honestly question myself "would you use something like this?". If the answer is "no" I hit the drawing board again and see where I can improve the current work if its possible, if not I dont mind starting from fresh as long as the final product is more than decent and provides a good user experience, as in the end having a website with no users is useless.

The ideal job:

The ideal job would be to work in a development environment where I gain more commercial experince building applications and websites. Although I work well under my own supervision, it would be really good to work in a team with knowledge diversity so that we can learn from each other and thus be able to develop better code.

Since I have been working for Caspian Media, development days are great. We get to build very cool things, let it be a new rich text editor to integration with social media sites and google. The team is great, everyone is dedicated not to just their job but to also in building and writing elegant functional code with the future in mind.

What's happening at the moment:

No matter how much you know there is always something more to learn and so I think I am still undergoing the infinite curve of learning programming languages and not just that but, however I feel quite confident coding in PHP, JavaScript (jQuery), MySQL, HTML and CSS. I have also started coding some Ruby on Rails while learning this new language.

I always try to learn something new everyday and try to keep updated with new things coming out, its really important. Also at the moment I'm having a lot of interest in iPhone app development so I'm looking forward in learning some of that aswell.

I also run and administer a Shift swapping Application for British Airways staff (it has been running for over a 2 years now, which is fantastic!), see portfolio for more info. Keep posted, a new version of Swapshift is cooking using the Zend Framework burner :) Now a rails version is on the to do list.
